In a sense theme park holidays were considered holidays for families. This was normally thought of as a family holiday. It would appear that the holiday packages offered by theme parks are more enticing than others, even couples are staying at them. With some of the offers around how could anybody turn this down, lets look at some of the reasons why this is happening.
Now Theme park holidays have become great contenders with all other holidays. When the prices started to fall they started to compete with St Lucia holidays or Barbados holidays. Now that they had the top accommodation, Theme parks became a strong candidate for quality luxury holidays.
The hotels just seem to get better and better at the theme parks as well. As soon as they realised that they could corner some more potential customers by giving them somewhere to stay, they have started a completely new tourism market. Disney World is probably the most successful for this; they always have offers on and even specialise in holidays for couples as well.
So now that the Theme Park world had started the tourism craze and given people somewhere to stay, what could be next? Well I believe Disney was the first to start this, but the next decision was weddings. Once you have a vacation location and a collection of hotels on it, the next thing to do is to offer people the chance to get married, and spend a honeymoon there. Not only do they get the chance to get a little extra cash for the wedding, but the honeymoon can be spent at the theme park as well.
What does this mean for the other holidays, like spa holidays or diving holidays? At some point Theme Parks will start to incorporate other holiday types as well? I wouldnt count Disney world out of this, pretty soon they will have a small ocean in the backyard for people to go diving in!
